Over the forthcoming weeks we will be focusing on our teachers, from Barre to Mini Bands and everything in between. Read about what brought them to their discipline and why we think you will enjoy their class. 

First week we have asked Ro to kick things off. Most of our members know Ro from the Front desk as well as Yoga. 

Classes: Monday 1030 Flow & Restore Yoga, Sunday 0900 Strength Yoga (shared with lizzie) & 1600 Vinyasa Yoga 

Ro has been practising yoga for most of her adult life and spent 12 years overseas in places with large yoga communities. She trained as a 200hr Vinyasa Yoga teacher in 2013 in Italy with an American teaching company. Returning from Italy she worked in London as a private chef and alongside this practised daily at what was then the Jivamukti Yoga School. She established classes in Chelsea with a mental health charity.  Returning to Superyachts momentarily, she went on to set up home in Mallorca. A vibrant yoga scene attracting international teachers allowed her to keep on developing her practise.  Two children later and a move back to the UK just in time for lock down and she has been working at Station Mill since it opened its doors in Oct 2020.  

Her favourite teachers include David Life & Sharon Gannon and Seane Corn, all of whom are in the US so online yoga classes have been a major positive of lockdowns.  Her yoga practise is anchored in the idea that there is always an adjustment that can make her classes accessible.  She enjoys exploring alignment and loves to use props in her classes.  Outside of Station Mill she teaches at a local pre-school weekly and works privately. 

Ro has two little boys 3 & 5 who keep her fit. When she is not at Station Mill she is in the countryside, horses and dogs are her favourite things. 

Who enjoys her classes:       Rowena attracts a diverse group of members.  She leads Beginners Workshops and teaches a community chair – based class so there are often beginners in her class, she also provides space for a more intermediate practise specifically Sunday afternoons at 1600.
