As part of Station Mill’s desire to immerse itself within the New Alresford community we have introduced a new Teen Yoga class, which will start every Friday from 18th June, 4-5pm. The idea behind the class is to introduce 14-16 year olds to yoga as a way of strengthening and improving flexibility. The 60 minute class will also teach the students meditation and mindfulness. Rowena, the instructor is DBS checked and is excited to begin this class.
Yoga offers a way of strengthening and balancing the body, using the breath to reconnect to ourselves. At 37, Ro would be the first to admit that she has no idea just how difficult the life of a 14-16 year old is in 2021. With so many pressures, expectations and stresses she hopes that yoga could be the thing that allows young people to slow down, reconnect and have fun. The only thing she asks is that participants turn up with an eagerness to be curious along with an open mind; learning to trust ourselves is the first part of the journey to understanding who we are.
