Yoga Therapy will be coming to Station Mill.
Many of our yoga community know that Rowena has been studying over the last 3 years, completing over 600 hours of training, a dissertation and in depth case-studies she is excited to be bringing this work to Station Mill.
Whilst her training has informed her practise and yoga teaching, Yoga Therapy is altogether different. Seen as a holistic, health-focused use of yoga, yoga therapy works to support healing and manage specific physical, mental or emotional conditions. The therapy is individualized, using the toolkit that yoga provides – movement, breath, and mindfulness.
It is ideally suited to working as a supportive complementary therapy, especially for conditions where the nervous system, movement, breath and stress all play a role. Many common conditions have researched evidence to show yoga therapy can help to improve daily functioning and quality of life. Rowena’s particular interest lies in physical rehab or specific physical conditions such as arthritis, hypermobility, chronic pain and joint pain, however she also understands how important this work is to supporting mental health. Many mental health conditions – from the more common stress and anxiety to the more complex such as PTSD tolerate yoga therapy well.
